Winter Highlights Feb - Mar 2013

Been reasonably busy of late but haven't managed to find the time for any blogging. Here's a quick, photo-heavy post to set things straight.

Ski Touring: Glen Feshie

A quick blast up Sgor Gaoith, following the snowiest lines.

Winter Climbing: Golden Oldy, Aonach Mor

Readers of this blog might be surprised to learn that I used to be completely obsessed with winter climbing. In recent winters I've been more focussed on skiing in the sun than on grovelling fearfully in shaded coires, but firm snow and the prospect of a sunny and straightforward ridge climb tempted me out of semi-retirement.

Ski Touring: Derry Cairngorm and Beinn A'Mheadhoin from Cairngorm

A fine tour, taking advantage of the uplift at the ski centre.

The highlight of the winter so far was skiing the perfectly sun-softened snow of the face in the centre of the shot above.

Look closely and you will see Pete ripping it in the centre of the photo.

There has been quite a lot of fresh snow and very little in the way of snow loss since these pics were taken, should be plenty winter adventures still to come!

Wow, great pics, and a bit jealous! Hoping to get at least one trip in the snow before it all goes.
